I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Botany from Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kerala, followed by a Master’s degree in Botany from the Central University of Kerala, Kasaragod. For my Master’s dissertation, I worked on the cloning and Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of a CRISPR/Cas9-based knockout construct targeting the Phytoene desaturase gene in Vigna radiata.
I am currently a PhD student in the Root Microbiology Lab at the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS), Bangalore. My research interests focus on understanding the infection dynamics of Fusarium oxysporum in the evolutionarily distant host Marchantia polymorphia. Specifically, I aim to investigate the signalling role of inositol phosphates in Marchantia immunity against F. oxysporum, and to explore whether this signalling pathway also contributes to fungal pathogenicity.
