About Us

Hello, and welcome!

We are the Early Career Researchers' Council (ECRC), a group of researchers at NCBS who care about making this campus a warm and inspiring place to learn, grow and do science together.

Early career researchers bring so much energy, curiosity and fresh thinking to NCBS. We want to celebrate that, and to make sure everyone feels heard, supported and connected as they find their way through research and life here.

What we hope to do

Listening and building bridges. We would love to hear what matters to you, whether it's a small idea or a bigger hope for how things could be. We gently carry these thoughts forward to the institute and work hand in hand with other campus committees to make good things happen.

Bringing back the joy of research culture. Some of the best moments in science happen over a conversation, a shared question or a chance meeting between labs. We hope to create more of these moments through events, conversations, gathering etc., so that ideas can travel freely and friendships can form along the way.

A space to share your voice. Our student blog is an open invitation to write about your science, your experiences and your time at NCBS. Not to impress, but to express.
