We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join us as graduate trainees, interns, PhD students, and Postdoctoral researchers. Our lab offers an interdisciplinary environment, integrating physics, biology, and engineering to study organ development and function. The students will have access to state-of-the-art facilities and opportunities for national and international collaborations.

Graduate Trainees (1-2): These positions are ideal for the final year BS-MS and Master students. Priority will be given to candidates planning to stay for more than 1 year. Interested applicants should write to us with their CV, a short description of their research experience, the skills previously gained, and career aspirations. Previous experience in C. elegans genetics, cell biology (cytoskeleton/cell-cell adhesion/cell-matrix adhesion), developmental biology, or quantitative imaging will be advantageous. Currently, no positions for short-term internships are available.

Graduate Students: We are actively looking for creative and motivated students who want to pursue a Ph.D. to address novel questions in organ mechanobiology. Please apply for the PhD / Int. PhD program through the Graduate Entrance examination of NCBS-TIFR.

Postdocs: We welcome inquiries from potential postdoctoral candidates with expertise in mechanobiology, developmental biology, quantitative cell biology, or biophysics. Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to develop independent research ideas aligned with the lab's broader interests. We also support applications for competitive fellowships, including EMBO, HFSP, DBT-RA, and NPDF.

To allow sufficient time for fellowship applications, prospective postdocs should initiate discussions 9-12 months before their anticipated start date. If you are interested, please email us with the subject line "Postdoc Application", including:

  • Updated CV
  • Funding status or interest in applying for fellowships
  • Research aspirations and future directions (4-6 sentences)
  • Summary of relevant experience
  • Expectations from the lab (2-3 sentences)
  • Name and contact details of 2-3 referees

We are excited to welcome curious researchers to our team! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
