Mid-term Admissions to the NCBS-TIFR PhD Programme January 2025

National Centre for Biological Sciences announces the opening of online applications for mid-term admission to its PhD programme

Fellowship

All selected candidates will be eligible to receive the regular JRF fellowship (Rs. 37,000 monthly + HRA as applicable) for the first two years with the standard annual contingency and later for upgraded SRF fellowship (Rs. 42,000 monthly + HRA as applicable) after the qualifications for registration are met. The selected candidates can avail of their own national fellowship or the TIFR fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria:

I. Master's degrees in any branch of Biology OR 5- year degrees (e.g. MBBS, BDS) OR professional Master's Degrees (MPharm/ MTech).

And

III. The candidate must have passed at least one of the following scholarship examinations: CSIR / UGC-JRF or DBT or ICMR or DST-INSPIRE or qualified in GATE (more than 95% percentile), with validity as on 01 January 2025 can alone apply.

Key Dates:

Closing date of online application:  15 November 2024
First round of interviews (online): 2 and 3 December 2024
Second round of interviews (in person): 19 and 20 December 2024
Joining: 8 January 2025

Swadhin Jana (Organelle biology)
Tapomoy Bhattacharjee (Active living matter in complex environments)
Varadharajan Sundaramurthy (Host-pathogen interactions)
