The NCBS High Performance Computing(HPC) Facility has the state-of-the art computing facilities, catering to the ever-increasing demands of high-performance computing from scientific community. The facility at NCBS is a symbiosis of computing, network, graphics, and visualization. The facility is conceived of as a functionally distributed supercomputing environment, shared memory systems, housing the state-of-the-art computing systems, with open source software packages, and connected by a powerful high-speed network backbone.
General-purpose numerical packages and bio-informatics tools, along with architecture specific libraries, and a collection of molecular dynamics package like Amber, Gromacs, Namd, and assembly method like Soapdenovo, and MD Simulations and python parallel programming etc., supplement the advanced hardware at the facility.
Users using the facility would have basic system knowledge of Linux softwares including compilations and installations. Moreover they are also required to have basic knowledge on how to run jobs in a cluster.
