Research in our laboratory will provide exposure to cross-disciplinary research on both theoretical and experimental fronts. We are currently looking for students from various fields including electrical / mechanical engineering, physics and neurobiology and field ecology for diverse projects in the laboratory. PhD and Postdoc positions: Limited number of PhD and PostDoc positions are available for Indian students with UGC/CSIR-NET or other fellowships or who have qualified for the NCBS JGEEBILS exam.

Junior Research Fellowships: Very few positions are currently available only for students with UGC/CSIR-NET or other fellowships.  These positions are for a time duration of no less than 6 months and no more than two years. Applicants should be well-versed in MATLAB programming and have good quantitative skills.

Field Biology Positions: Positions are currently available only for students with UGC/CSIR-NET or other fellowships to work on field-related projects pertaining to studies on insect migration. Students should be well-acquainted with insect taxonomy and basic knowledge of plant identification. Both projects will involve students living on off-campus field sites. The tenure of these fellowships is at least 2 years. We are also looking for students interested in studying long-term insect monitoring at two field sites in Pachamrhi, Madhya Pradesh and Kodagu, Karnataka.

Termite Mounds Project: Positions are currently available only for students with UGC/CSIR-NET or other fellowships to study the architecture and building behavior in termites. Students should have some programming experience and preferably a background in Physics with an interest in learning insect behavior and neurobiology.

High-School Students: We also have a few projects earmarked for high school students. Interested high school students are encouraged to contact me if they would like to work in my lab over the summer months or during holidays.
