The Meetings Office at BLiSC has the overall responsibility to foster academic collaboration and exchange through small and large scientific meetings, workshops, conferences, the NCBS Annual talks, talks and discussions with delegations. The ultimate goal is to help establish long term collaborations/relations with other institutes to further scientific exchange, which we contribute to through follow up meetings and compiling after-meeting reports .
The office has helped organize several meetings and visits. 30 meetings in the year 2023, and 16 planned so far in 2024! We help organize Workshops, Small Meetings, Large Meetings, and Visits from delegates- both National and International. We also follow through on these visits to plan joint symposia, joint workshops and collaborations. We liaise with faculty, accounts, reception, IT, instrumentation, hospitality, civil, communications, vendors, sponsors, travel desk, government agencies, and external hospitality services as well.

Safe, inclusive and sustainable meetings:
-NCBS follows a strict Anti-Harassment Policy and we take any instances of harassment very seriously. You can find more information about the campus POSH policy, the Internal Complaints Committee, and other related guidelines here.
-Sustainability: We endeavour to make all our meetings and events sustainable. In this regard, we would request meeting organisers to announce/inform participants to return all name tags after the event, so that they can be reused for future meetings. We would also request meeting organisers to help us minimise the use of single-use cups and bottles by recommending BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottles, which can be filled from water coolers installed throughout the campus) or BYOC (Bring Your Own Cups for tea/coffee etc. or use the meeting merchandise wherever applicable)
