Pandemic complexity: mitigating the third wave and training for the future

Predicting and mitigating the possible third wave of COVID at macro and micro levels is critical as we re-invent public health training and structures for the future. Dr. Varsha Sridhar, a Bangalore-based molecular virologist will discuss ongoing and emerging COVID surveillance strategies and challenges. Prof. Vikram Patel, a psychiatrist and global health expert will discuss institutional structures and potential rewiring of public health programs. Prof. Ramanan Laxminarayan, a disease dynamics expert, will engage with the role of models, dealing with complex trade-offs in decision making in pandemics and beyond.

The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Sudhir Krishna (NCBS-TIFR and IIT-Goa), the Covid-Gyan webinar series is hosted by Prof. Uma Ramakrishnan, NCBS-TIFR.
