Course Outline:

In this course, you will be introduced to basic concepts in evolution (natural selection and genetic drift), the history of evolutionary thought (Darwin, Wallace, Lamark and other thinkers), the mechanisms and processes that generate biological diversity (speciation, population genetics, hybridization), geographic patterns of diversity (biogeography, macro-ecology), and the evolution of species interactions. The course will consist of classroom lectures, discussion of primary literature, and practical lab exercises. This is an MSc wildlife course which is open to a limited number of NCBS PhD students.
