Model building, refinement and validation of data derived from Cryo-EM
Model building, Refinement and Validation of data derived from Cryo-EM
30 March – 3 April 2026 | National Centre for Biological Sciences, TIFR, Bengaluru
Together with CCP-EM, UK, we are pleased to announce workshop on 'Model building, refinement and Validation of data derived from Cryo-EM'. The aim of the workshop is to provide hands-on training for PhD students and researchers at different career levels (post-doctoral fellows and faculty) in the field of conventional and AI-based approaches for automatic model building in Cryo-EM maps, model refinement and validation with a primer on efficient data collection and image processing. The workshop will provide a forum to highlight state of the art developments in computational cryo-EM and related themes as well as showcasing some recent biological applications. This course will host some of the leading software developers and provide ample contact time to allow participants to discuss their data in detail alongside traditional lectures and tutorials. The workshop will cover advanced use of LocScale, ModelAngelo, findMySequence-checkMySequence, EM_placement, Coot/Moorhen, TEMPy-REFF, ISOLDE, Refmac-Servalcat, new validation tools and EMDB/PDBe developments.
The venue of the workshop is at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, TIFR, Bengaluru.
Due to various constraints, we can only accommodate a maximum of 20 participants. Thus, we strongly encourage researchers who have already obtained cryo-EM maps and would like to learn the later steps of Model building, refinement and validation of the models. The participants should also bring their own laptop (and data), which can be used during the workshop.
Application
Interested applicants should send their CV, research interest including how this workshop will benefit their research. The CV and details should be sent to cryoemncbs@gmail.com.
The final date for the applications is January 20th, 2026 and the selected applicants will be notified by 1st week of February, 2026.
