Advt No.17/2020 : Appointment of a Graduate Trainee in Cell and Molecular Biology on Contract Basis in the lab of Dr. Soumyashree Das

Job description:

This role is in a wet laboratory which performs basic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular studies. The selected candidate will closely work with the principal investigator and will be studying the role of vascular genes regulating artery remodeling in the mouse heart. Research work involves maintaining mouse colonies relevant to the project, performing surgical procedures on mice, followed by analyses of coronary vascular gene expression and function in different genetic mouse models by using various cellular and molecular techniques. Candidate will work independently and with other lab members of Das lab or other labs, participate in lab discussions, present data in meetings.

Essential Qualification & Experience required:

  • MSc.

  • Wet Lab experience in Biology for a minimum 2 years, preferably 3-4 years

  • Mouse handling, Tissue culture, Basic molecular biology techniques

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skill

Number of position: 1

Contract term: The position will be for 1 year subject to a performance review after 3 months. At the end of the first year, there will be potential for extending the contract by one more year.

Minimum % of marks: 75%

Age limit: 30

Salary offered: 31000 + 24% HRA
