The Centre for Brain and Mind (CBM) is an exciting new scientific venture of the National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) and the National Institute for Mental Health & Neurosciences (NIMHANS), supported by the Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies. The CBM will undertake cutting-edge research in the area of human mental illness with the goal of discovering novel and better methods for the diagnosis and clinical management of mental illness.
Description: One Database Manager position is available for candidates with database management expertise to work in this program. The appointment will be a fixed-term position initially for one (1) year and renewable annually subject to the outcome of a performance assessment. The position comes with consolidated pay based on qualification and experience, subject to institutional guidelines.
Essential Educational Qualification:
BE/B.Tech Degree in Electrical/ Computer Science/ Information Technology Engineering (with an aggregate of 60% marks) from a recognized university/institute.
Essential Experience:
a) 12 or more years of database management
b) Database management (SQL)
c) Languages: Python, HTML, PHP, C/C++,
d) File standards: XML, JSON, Schemas.
e) OS: Familiarity with Linux
f) Project management:
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
- Familiarity with continuous build checking
- Familiarity with Make, CMake and build environments
- Familiarity with library dependency management
- Familiarity with packaging projects using Pip.
- Familiarity with virtual machines and Docker.
- Web Environments: one or more of Joomla, Drupal, Django
Desirable qualifications/experience:
First class with distinction
GUI development experience.
Research publications on scientific software / scientific databases.
Data curation experience.
Participation in team research projects.
Salary: Maximum of Rs. 78000/- + HRA per month (Total Monthly Emolument: Rs. 99060/-)
