ABOUT THE MEET

The TIFR Engineers' Meet 2026 is a flagship national gathering designed to strengthen engineering capabilities, promote indigenous innovation, and enable cross-campus collaboration across all TIFR centres in India. It brings together engineers, technical experts, and institutional leaders to share best practices in research infrastructure.

Scientific and engineering services form the indispensable backbone of research excellence across all TIFR centres. Yet, opportunities for structured, cross-institutional exchange among engineering and scientific services professionals remain limited. The Pan-TIFR Scientific and Engineering Meet is conceived to bridge this gap, creating a dedicated platform for knowledge sharing, collaborative problem-solving, and the celebration of engineering innovation across the TIFR family of institutions.

Each participating centre will showcase an overview of its engineering systems, core competencies, innovative work, and key operational challenges, followed by structured thematic discussions and demonstrations. This meet will mark the beginning of a valuable and enduring tradition of engineering collaboration across TIFR. The program will be organized around the following focus areas, with the broader goals of fostering collaboration, showcasing achievements, and identifying opportunities for shared solutions across TIFR's national network:

  • Innovative projects and indigenous product development
  • Engineering operations, processes, and institutional best practices
  • Challenges encountered and solutions implemented
  • Energy conservation, water management, and sustainability initiatives
  • Space utilization, facility design, and operational improvements
  • Upcoming projects and potential areas for inter-centre collaboration
