Molecular basis of physiological processes
Instructor: Vinothkumar K.R.
Time: 11.30-1.00 PM
Days: Monday/Wednesday/Friday
Credits: 3
Course Outline:
The course aims to introduce concepts on how things function within a cell at a molecular level. The course will be divided into themes/modules starting with specificity and selectivity to power, colour, senses (sound//touch/pain) and ending with some applications that we derive from natural world and other disciplines of science.
Course outcome:
-
Understand how basic biological processes function within a cell at a molecular level.
-
Be able to integrate molecular, biochemical and cellular events to understand the control of physiology
-
Be able to extrapolate these ideas to develop hypotheses of unknown processes
Course Term: Jan Term - 2021
Course Year: 2020/2021
