The BERI Early Career Award

The BioEngineering Research Initiative is conceived as a platform to facilitate interdisciplinary interactions between biologists, physicists, engineers, material scientists and medical doctors. The structure of the collaboration revolves around a core group of faculty who facilitate interactions with colleagues in other research and academic institutions.
The BERI early career awards comprise postdoctoral positions, under existing research programs in the Bangalore Bio Cluster. Applicants are expected to work alongside the lab members, while bringing in expertise in bio-engineering. If you are interested in such a position, you are encouraged to explore the research programs, contact the faculty, and submit proposals for postdoctoral research. Typical appointments are for 2 years, with possible extension for a third year depending on the evaluation conducted towards the end of the second year.
Resources

The Personal support awarded via these fellowships will be commensurate with the applicants research experience [Rs 35000/- to 40000/- per month] with additional provision for house-rent allowance as per rules. Research projects will be developed in close collaboration with those of their hosts. The host laboratory will undertake to provide resources and space, with the possibility of additional support, as needed. BERI post doctoral fellows will remain eligible for sponsorship for a range of external competitive fellowships from other agencies.
